Verify Your Business in Meta

Business verification in Meta proves that your company is a real legal entity, and you complete it from the Security Center in your business portfolio on Meta.

You can start messaging customers before verification, but some Meta features need it, such as applying for the official business account badge.

Do you need verification?

Verification is required for some features, such as applying for Official Business Account status, which shows your company name instead of the number.

Before you start

Make sure of the following, and that the details match your documents exactly:

• You’re an admin of the business portfolio on Meta.
• Your company details are complete in the portfolio settings: legal name, address, phone number, and website.
• A working website with a security certificate (https) that shows your company details in the footer.
• An email address on your website’s domain, such as name@company.com.

Required documents

Prepare one or two documents with your company’s legal name, such as a commercial registration, business license, or tax registration, and a document with the address or phone, such as a utility bill or bank statement. Your documents must be:

• Clear and in color, showing the whole document with no cropping or hidden parts.
• Valid, not expired, and not edited in any way.
• Under the same legal name you enter in the verification request.
• Accepted in your country, because Meta’s list of accepted documents varies by country.

Verification steps

To verify your business:

   Open Business Settings in your business portfolio, then Security Center, and click Start Verification.

   Choose your country and business type, and specify whether your business is registered.

   Enter your business, contact, and website details, then choose your business from the list Meta shows, or choose My business isn’t listed. If your business isn’t registered yet, you only need to enter the name, address, contact details, and website.

   Upload the required documents. Meta may also ask for an ID document to confirm your relationship to the business.

   Choose a confirmation method: email, which is the fastest, text message or call, WhatsApp message, or domain verification.

   Enter the confirmation code, then submit the request.

Meta reviews the request within 10 minutes to 14 business days, and you can track its status in Security Center. You get the result by email and as a notification in your account.

Meta also offers a simplified path called Partner-Led Business Verification, which a Meta tech partner starts on your behalf. It’s available through some partners only.

Confirmation methods

Choose the method that fits your documents, because each method has a requirement:

• Email: the fastest, and the email must be on your company website’s domain.
• Text message or call: needs an official document with the company name and the same phone number.
• WhatsApp message: you get the confirmation code in a WhatsApp message.
• Domain verification: if your domain isn’t verified in Meta, verify it first, then come back to complete the request.

If verification is rejected

The most common rejection reasons are details that don’t match the documents, unclear documents, or missing information. To try again:

• Review the rejection reason in Security Center or in Meta’s message.
• Make sure the name, address, and phone in your portfolio details match your documents.
• Resubmit with clear documents, and add another document if needed.

After verification

Meta starts reviewing the display name that appears on your WhatsApp Business profile, and you get the result within one to two days. Use your brand or company name to avoid rejection.
