WhatsApp Groups in Flovoo let you talk with several customers in one conversation on your business's official WhatsApp number, instead of sending the same message to each customer separately.
Groups suit small, important audiences, such as VIP customers, distributors, or product beta groups. You can create the group, invite customers to it, then follow and reply in it with your team from the inbox.
What Are WhatsApp Groups in Flovoo?
A group is a group conversation on one of your connected WhatsApp channels. Joining is by invitation only, and no customer is added without their consent.
A group has two types of participants:
- Contacts: Your customers on WhatsApp. You can invite up to 7 contacts per group, in addition to the channel number itself.
- Members: Your Flovoo team members who read and reply in the group from the inbox. There is no limit on their number, and they do not count as group participants.
Member replies are sent as the channel, not as the member.
Requirements for Using Groups
- Groups work on WhatsApp Business API channels only.
- Groups do not work with Coexistence channels or the WhatsApp Business app.
- Your number must meet Meta's requirements for groups, including an Official Business Account.
Create a New Group
To create a group:
- Open the Chats page, then select the Groups tab.
- Click the + icon at the top of the list.
- In the Channel field, choose the WhatsApp channel that will host the group.
- Enter the group name in the Group name field, and add a description in the Group description field if you want.
- From Select members, choose the team members who will follow the group.
- From Invite contacts, choose up to 7 contacts to invite.
- Click Create group.
The group is created and appears in the Groups tab.
For example, you can create a group named VIP Customers — Cairo for your top customers in Cairo.
Invite Contacts
After the group is created, each invited contact receives a message with the invite link. The contact shows as Pending until they open the link and join the group.
The invite link is sent as a regular message from the channel to the contact, so it follows the 24-hour window between the channel and the contact.
Messaging Inside the Group
Open the group from the Groups tab, then type and send your message as in any chat. Each contact's messages appear with their name.
You can send:
- Text messages.
- Images, videos, documents, and audio files.
- Text and media message templates.
The 24-Hour Window in Groups
When any participant sends a message in the group, the 24-hour window opens or refreshes for the whole group. During this time, you can reply with regular messages.
After the window ends, you need to send an approved message template. To learn more, see What Are WhatsApp Message Templates?.
What Groups Do Not Support
Some one-to-one chat features are not available inside groups:
- Interactive messages, such as buttons and lists.
- Voice and video calls.
- Editing or deleting messages after sending.
- Marking messages as read.
- Disappearing messages and view-once messages.
Group Message Costs
A group message is charged per recipient. For example, if you send one message in a group with 5 contacts, it counts as 5 messages.
To learn more about pricing, see WhatsApp Pricing.
